Quarter Horse Haflinger
Couch was surrendered to our program because she wasn’t meshing well with her previous owner. She came to us with all sorts of behavioral issues, but with firm but fair handling (and a cookie or three), she has realized that it is much more fun to just get along with us! Couch is a blast on the trail. She will cross anything and go anywhere. Do you want a spicy 4-wheeler in pony form? Here she is!
Historically, she has taken advantage of beginners, so while we haven’t had issues with her, we are probably smart to recommend her for an intermediate rider. She might try a pony shenanigan or two on your the first time you ride, and if you pass her minor “tests” (she’s not crazy and has never done anything dangerous) then you are good to go!
Couch is sound barefoot. Her Cushings is managed well with medication that she takes easily. She loads in a trailer and stands for the farrier and vet like a pro. She is currently body clipped and stood like an Olympic show horse for the entire ordeal… two clumsy people with two sets of loud clippers buzzing for almost two hours. Wow!
This pony is a blast that you can ride bareback in a halter and a lead rope. She’s one that we rave about. DON’T MISS OUT!
